Iskakbayev Musatay Omirzhanuly was born in 1935 in the city of Kemerovo. Between 1943-1953 he studied at № 5 Kazakh secondary school in Semey and after graduation served in military in Leningrad until 1957. In 1957 he was admitted to Semipalatinsk Medical Institute, which he graduated from in 1963. From 1963 till 1966 he worked as a surgeon at the central hospital of Kokpekti district. In 1966 he begins working as a trauma surgeon in regional clinical hospital of Semey. From January 1970 he was appointed as a head of traumatology department of Semey clinical hospital and as a head traumatologist of Healthcare department of Semey region. Between 1973 and 1975 he taught at the hospital surgery and traumatology department of Semipalatinsk Medical University.
From 1975 Iskakbayev Musatay Omirzhanuly headed clinical city hospital №1 as a head physician for 25 years. He constantly trained in Soviet Union’s large and small clinics, as well as in foreign countries such as Finland.
Iskakbayev Musatay Omirzhanuly is an author of more than 30 published scientific works. Since 1980 he received an award for excellence in health protection, awarded by the Ministry of Health of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics; became a member of republican traumatology and orthopedics scientific society; in 1989 was a member of coordination advisory board regarding Semey-Nevada movement.
According to the presidential decree from February 27, 1992 Iskakbayev Musatay Omirzhanuly was awarded the “Honored doctor of the Republic of Kazakhstan” title. In 2008 due to 55th celebration of Semey medical academy he was awarded with “Honorary Graduate” insignia.
His wife, Toleugaysha Ukibaskyzy, worked for more than 40 years as a senior teacher at the chemistry department in Semey technological institute, which was later renamed to Shakarim university. He has 2 grandchildren from his two sons Ermek and Erzhan.
